You picked out the perfect outfit, decided how to wear your hair and just when trying to open the bathroom cabinet to get that expensive skin cleansing mask you bought, instead of reaching for the handle, you end up pushing your nail in the cabinet door. You got yourself a broken nail.
How to fix it and get to the party in time?
One of the most popular DIY methods to fix a broken nail is by using a piece of tea bag. To do this, you need to get rid of the tea and then cut, as accurately as you can, a piece from the tea bag which imitates your broken nail. I am talking about the shape, not length. You can trim that later on. Next step is to coat the nail with clear nail polish and the trick is not to let it dry. Immediately after coating the nail with the nail polish, stick the piece of tea bag on the nail and try to fit it as smooth as possible by taping it with your finger. After drying, you can trim the excess piece of tea bag and gently buffer the nail without eliminating too much of the added layer, and trying not to remove any from the area where the nail is broken, at the same time.
Perhaps, the best way to fix a broken nail by yourself is by using gel and a UV lamp, if you own one and have the skills. This is the most efficient way to fix the problem, in my opinion. Its durable and it can be done in a matter of minutes.
A preventive method regarding this problem would be to strengthen your nails. You can do that by soaking your nails for 10 to 20 minutes in a mix of honey, two egg yokes and 3 spoons of milk. These ingredients will hydrate and nourish your nails, making them healthier and stronger. You can do this nail treatment as often as you wish.
